Donald E. Hahn, age 94, died August 21, 2022, surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He was born November 28, 1927, to the late Susan (Marquette) and the late John Hahn in Chicago’s Back of the Yards neighborhood, the youngest in a family of eight children. His five sisters and two brothers predeceased him. Don was the loving husband of the late LaVerne (Wietecki) Hahn; the devoted father of Nancy Hahn (James Holland), Donald Hahn, Dolores (Roger) Brenza, and Timothy (Erica) Hahn; and the beloved grandfather of Lauren, Justin, and Tyler Brenza and Jillian and Jacob Hahn. He is also survived by many dear nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. A man of integrity and deep faith, Don was an active member of St. Bede the Venerable Parish for 62 years. He was a professional electrical engineer who spent most of his career in federal service, working first for the US Navy and then for the Federal Aviation Administration. Don was generous and kind to all who needed his help and was a gentle caretaker for many dogs who adored him in return. Visitation Thursday, August 25, 2022, 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Funeral Friday, August 26, 2022, 9:00 AM from Curley Funeral Home, 6116 W. 111th St., Chicago Ridge, IL 60415 to St. Bede the Venerable Church. Mass 10:00 AM.
