Scott Emerson Wicks
APRIL 25, 1968 – APRIL 15, 2023

Scott attended Northeastern Illinois University and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He went on to establish a successful career in banking and finance. Scott loved spending time with his family. He loved attending sporting events, coaching youth sports, traveling, and playing golf. While taken much too soon, Scott passed away doing what he loved most – riding his Harley Davidson with his wife Jane.
Scott is survived by his beloved wife, Jane Shifrin, nee Frid; cherished children Kyle and Brandon Wicks; stepchildren Mariella Falls and Sydney, Elyse, and Jaden Shifrin; devoted siblings Linda (Dan) Dadian, Larry (Elsje) Ruud, Jerry, Mark, Matt, Eric, Barry, and Daniel Wicks. Scott is preceded in death by his loving parents Barry Wicks and Marabeth J. Aune Wicks. He will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A visitation for Scott will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Weinstein and Piser Funeral Home, 111 Skokie Boulevard, Wilmette, IL 60091. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 9900 Gross Point Road, Skokie, IL 60076. Shiva will take place Sunday, April 23 from 10 AM to 3 PM at Jane and Scott’s residence, 2860 Daulton Dr, Buffalo Grove.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the GoFundMe to support the family with unexpected costs that Scott’s passing has left, or to the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center in Scott’s name.
