Alice Jean Hill was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on October 2,1933. She was the second of four children born to the union of Edna and Lonnie Menser; Gloria Barbour , Eva Jones and Lonnie Menser Jr. She migrated to Chicago where she resided for most of her life. Alice married the love of her life, James Hill on December 31, 1959. Before their marriage, Alice had three children: Darlene Menser, James Menser, and Diana Paschel. Together with James, she had seven children: Celestine Hill (deceased), Charmaine Hill, Cordell Hill, Gregory Hill, Quinton Hill (deceased), Eugene Hill, Loretta Hill, and Vincent Hill (deceased in Infancy). Alice took pride in being manager of a belt company. She also worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. Alice later ran a house keeping business and cleaned homes for many including Mayor Washington of Chicago. While she loved working, what she loved most was raising her children as this was the highlight of her life. She enjoyed playing bingo. Family time bowling, dancing, singing, roller skating and listening to jazz and blues music to name a few. Alice was a perfect example of God’s love as she loved everyone she met and poured her love on anyone around her.

Alice relocated to Indianapolis to be cared for by her daughter in 2011. Alice was a God fearing Christian woman. Alice worshiped at New Birth Worship Praise and Worship Center as well as Bethel Family Worship Center. She was such a beautiful, jazzy and classy spirit full of wisdom and advice. To have known her is to love her and to love her is to know the true definition of a superwoman. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her. A true angel sent from above.
