Carroll, Eileen (nee Cahill) Age 92
Eileen Carroll (nee Cahill), age 92, was a native of Monemohill, Ballyhahill, County Limerick, Ireland. She was the eldest child of the late Thomas and Catherine (nee Lane) Cahill. She was the loving wife of the late Kevin Carroll, mother of Thomas (Ralph Flores) and Elizabeth (Charles) Carroll-Lacey, and grandmother of Patrick and Alison Lacey. She was the fond sister of the late William, late Mary (late Michael) Gleeson, the late Thomas, Margaret (Patrick) Lynch, Elizabeth (John) Clince, the late Daniel, Kevin (Rose), John (Maureen), Patrick (Barbara), Bernadette (John) Ryan, Frank (Máire), Sister Catherine Cahill, and the late babies Joseph and Stephen. She was the dear aunt of many, many nieces and nephews. Eileen came to America in 1949 and got to work. She was an au pair in Hinsdale, a cook at St. Gall’s rectory, a cashier at Stouffer’s Restaurant, and lastly filled many positions at the Harris Bank. She was an inspiration to her children. Eileen loved family, prayer, poetry, and music—we dare to believe that she and heaven will be well suited. A special thank you to the wonderful staff at Radford Green at Sedgebrook in Lincolnshire for their care for Eileen these many years.
Visitation Tuesday 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass 11:00 a.m. at St. Gall Catholic Church, 5511 S. Sawyer Ave., Chicago.
Interment St. Mary Cemetery
