Edward J. Lyons passed away peacefully on May 1, 2022. The beloved husband of Eileen (Duhig) Lyons. The son of the late Edward and Margaret Lyons, loving older brother to Peggy (Jack) Harkins, the late Tom (Sue) Lyons, Gerald Lyons and his companion Sue Pauls; fond brother-in-law to Michael Duhig (Retired CPD), Mary (Dolly) Brenz, Thomas (the late Marilyn) Duhig, the late Martin (Karen) Duhig, Peggy (the late Robert) Durkin, James (Kathy) Duhig, John (Val) Duhig, Patrick (Marie) Duhig, the late Ann (Dr. Michael) Liston Sr., Cathy (Bill) Holland, Daniel (Diane) Duhig; larger than life uncle to more than 55 nieces and nephews. Ed graduated from Our Lady of Peace, Mt. Carmel High School (’57), and St. Ambrose University. He loved and held his friends close to his heart. He was involved with sports from his high school days until he retired from umpiring high school and college football games. He was kind, thoughtful and didn’t tolerate bullies.
