Beloved husband of 42 years of Mary Purrazzo (nee Haniotes).
Loving father of Anthony (Michelle), James III (Joy), and Thomas (Nicole) Purrazzo.
Proudest Nonno of Warren Elwood, Santino Anthony, and James Purrazzo IV.
Adored son of the late James and Lina Purrazzo.
Dear brother of the late Frank Purrazzo.
Cherished brother in law of Lois Purrazzo.
Kind uncle of Matt, Mary, and Michelle
Jim was a religious man and a giving person. Often times you would find him helping others and chatting with strangers. Every Christmas he and Mary (his spouse) would head to the shelter to help serve food to those in need. He was a long time Sertoma member and a driving force for The Chicago Lawn Charter. To say Jim was a charitable man is an understatement. I didn’t matter your walk of life, he was there without judgment to see if he could be of service. A true one of a kind gentleman with an amazing personality. Even though he was only 5 foot 3, his heart and personality were that of a man double his size;
Larger than life but humble beyond words. He was a mentor to many, a friend to all, and a father figure to more than just his sons. He thanked God every day for his gifts, his family, and his life.
Gone too soon and eternally missed by his family. His name will live on along with his stories. We will miss you dad, Jim, Jimbo, Pops. We love you, your family.
Visitation Sunday 1 – 5 p.m. and Monday 3-9 p.m.
