John S. Shapira, 85, of Highland Park, Longboat Key, FL, and La Jolla, CA; beloved husband of Jane Shapira; loving father of Thomas (Jodi) Shapira and Emily (Earle) Goldin; proud grandfather of Theodore Shapira, Richard Shapira, Elizabeth Goldin, Samuel Shapira, and Alexandra Goldin; dear brother of the late Janet (Michael) Barkun and the late Ann (late James) Cohn; caring brother-in-law of Arthur and Susan Fleischer. John was the former President of The Standard Club and the Chicago chapter of the Anti-Defamation League. He was a retired partner at Lord Bissell & Brooke. He will be deeply missed.
Memorial service will be held Friday, October 7 at 10 AM at Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home, 111 Skokie Blvd, Wilmette, IL 60091. Shiva for John will be held at Thomas Shapira’s Residence, located at 630 Carriage Way, Deerfield, IL 60015, on Friday, October 7 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Saturday October 8, from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM, and Sunday, October 9 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
