Lois V. Hollaar, nee Haak, age 95, beloved wife of the late William “Bud” Hollaar (2013). Loving mother of Vivian (late Dave) Sytsma, Larry (Debbie) Hollaar, Ken (Heather) Hollaar and the late William Allen Hollaar (2020). Cherished grandmother of Leigh Ann (Jon) Bartlett, Martin (Anna) Sytsma, Paul Sytsma, John (Tracy) Sytsma, Louis (Christina) Sytsma, late Timothy Sytsma; Carrie (Bill) Bruinius, Andrew Hollaar, Jonathan (Julie) Hollaar, Katherine (Brian) Huizenga. Dearest great-grandmother of 25 and great-great-grandmother of ten. Preceded in death by her brother Alvin Haak and sister Edith Plagerman. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Lois was born and raised in Hull, North Dakota. Lois and Bud moved to the Chicago area in 1955 so that their oldest son, Bill, could attend Elim Christian School. She worked as a cook at Rest Haven Christian Services and then later became the head cook at Elim Christian School for many years.
Visitation Friday, October 10, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service 12:00 Noon at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL. A live stream of the service will be available. Interment Chapel Hill Gardens South, Oak Lawn, IL.
