Marilyn Kaplan, nee Bloom, 93. Beloved wife of the late Maury Kaplan and the late Morton Katz; devoted mother of Howard (Susan) Katz, Richard (Julie) Katz, and Debra (Val) Sampson; treasuredgrandmother of Jordan (Jennifer), Adam, Brian, Greg (Ellie Wen), and Evan Katz, and Matt (Antoinette), Miles (Pia Vargas) and Anna (Steve Marek) Sampson; proud “Gigi” of Maddy, Sloane, Lucy, Jonah, Kai, Katie, and Nick; dear sister of the late Beverly (late Norm) Rathje; loving aunt of many. The family would like to thank Halina Grotkowski for her many years of dedicated care. Marilyn was known for her loving, generous nature. She was a fantastic friend, and adored by everyone she met. She will be deeply missed. Funeral service Friday, Aug. 26, 1 PM, at Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home, 111 Skokie Blvd, Wilmette. Interment Waldheim Cemetery.
