Mary Georgakopoulos
DECEMBER 23, 1935 – SEPTEMBER 8, 2021
Mary Georgakopoulos (nee Pateropoulos), 85, of Burbank, Illinois passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 8, 2021. She was born in Gargalianoi, Greece and emigrated to Melbourne, Australia before coming to the United States in 1970. Beloved wife of the late George Georgakopoulos; loving mother of Vicki Kaminski and Nicolaos (Mary Lee Moore) Georgakopoulos; cherished yiayia to George, Michael, Nicholas and Jonathan; dear sister to Spiros, John, and the late Akis Pateropoulos. Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Mary enjoyed cooking, gardening and playing cards. May her memory be eternal.
A visitation for Mary will be held on Monday, September 13th from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W. 103rd St., Oak Lawn, IL followed by Funeral Services at 10:30 a.m. at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 10301 S. Kolmar Ave., Oak Lawn, IL. Interment Bethania Cemetery, Justice, IL.
