Maria Victoria Corrales

November 18, 1957  –  October 22, 2023

Maria Victoria Corrales, nee Aldaba, age 65, of Woodridge, IL, formerly of Malolos, Bulacan, Philippines, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at her residence surrounded by loved ones. She was born on November 18, 1957, in Malolos, Bulacan to parents Victorino Sr. and Eden (Gaba) Aldaba. She is survived by the love of her life, Felix, whom she married on January 3, 1987.

She is survived by her two daughters, Maria Arianna (Robert) Sarmiento and Jennifer Mae (Jason) Pacey; her apo/granddaughter, Olivia Victoria; her six siblings, Minerva (July) Morada, Maritess (Jun) Manicad, Marissa (Mitoy) Aguilar, Butch (Rose), Bong (Anna), and Boyet (Dang) Aldaba; many brothers/sisters-in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marivic was preceded in death by her parents, Eden Gaba Aldaba and Victorino Aldaba.

Marivic’s nursing career spanned three countries, beginning in the Philippines, continuing in Saudi Arabia, and finally bringing her to America in 1993. Marivic can be described as a woman of strong faith. She was called by God to be a nurse and it was evident in how strongly she showed that love to everyone she met – be it patients, family, friends, and even strangers, all of whom she treated as family. Her final 20 years of her nursing career were spent as a neurosurgical ICU nurse at UIC.

Her passions in life went beyond helping others and performing charitable works for the less fortunate. She also loved traveling and seeing the world with her husband and daughters and even made them promise to continue traveling on her behalf.

While she loved to travel, she also loved being at home. She often watched her Filipino teleserias, and loved spoiling her fur baby, Daisy. One of the things that brought her the most joy were the many kisses that her apo, Olivia, would give her.

Anyone that knew Marivic knew that she loved to throw parties and be surrounded by those she cared about. She showed her love through feeding others and you could taste the love she put in everything that she cooked. She was known to be both first on the dance floor and the one to close it out. Her love of music extended to a love of playing the piano.
