Jack (John W.) O’Leary, age 85, a resident of Mokena formerly of Naperville and Naples, FL passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021. Loving husband of the late Mary Janet O’Leary (Dreyer); beloved father of the late Michael O’Leary, Mary Kay (Lonnie) Springman and John O’Leary; dearest brother of the late Timothy O’Leary, the late Eilleen (late James) Dreyer, the late Daniel (late Judy) O’Leary and Bob (Margaret) O’Leary; cherished grandfather of Margaret, Emily, Bryan, Jackson and Daniel. Jack was a veteran of the United States Army 82nd Airborne Division serving in the Korean war, a Chicago Fireman and member of Local 17 Heat and Frost Insulators. He enjoyed coaching youth athletics, working with at-risk teens and volunteering in the Naples schools and hospital. An avid reader who loved the theater, symphony and travel, Jack remained active in the alumni communities of both Visitation Catholic School and De La Salle Institute where he treasured both lifelong and new friendships. A visitation will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort IL, 60423 on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 6-9 PM. Funeral Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church, 19515 115th Ave, Mokena IL 60448 on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow to St. Mary Cemetery, Evergreen Park. ALL IN ATTENDANCE AT VISITATION OR FUNERAL MASS ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR A MASK AND MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCE. FOOD IS NOT ALLOWED.
