Philip F. Brewer, Retired 1SG U.S.Army, age 81, of Hammond, IN, originally from Bronx, New York, peacefully passed away at home on August 9, 2025, with his wife and family by his side.
Philip is survived by his loving wife, Graciela; his children: Robert “Chief” (Shannon) Brewer, Bonny (Rob) Mario, Deanna (Chuck) Kee, Andres M Sr. (Tiffany) Nunez, Juan M Jr (Kimberly) Nunez and Blanca R “Kid” (Jonathan) Nunez. He loved and was loved by all of his grandchildren, and even more so by his great grandchildren. Philip is also survived by his brother, Warren (Pam) Brewer; sister, Roberta Emery; many nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, Azucena; brothers and sister in-law.
A Funeral Service will take place at LaHayne Funeral Home located at 6955 Southeastern Avenue, Hammond on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at 7:00 PM. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the Funeral Home from 5:00PM until time of service at 7:00.
Inurnment with Military Honors will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at 1:00 PM.
Philip was a career military man. He spent over 22 years in service. He loved his family and his animals more.
