Phyllis Mueller-Murawski

Phyllis Mueller-Murawski (nee Janocha) of Harvey, passed away peacefully at home on the evening of Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the age of 95.
Born on September 21, 1930 in Cook County, she was the beloved daughter of the late Chester and the late Laura Janocha. Phyllis attended St. John Catholic School in Harvey and went on to graduate from Thornton Township High School in 1948. While at Thornton, she was a proud member of the “Seventeen Halves,” a taps group whose friendships she cherished throughout her life.
Phyllis lived with joy and vitality. She loved traveling, music, and dancing, and was an avid golfer who participated in leagues at Silver Lakes and Cherry Hills. Above all, her greatest passion was her family—her children, sister, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren held a special place in her heart.
She is survived by her four children from her first marriage to Archer Mueller: Lynne (Ed) Zielinski, Rick (Lynn), Randy (Ramona) and Dan (Trudi) Mueller.
In 1984, Phyllis married her high school sweetheart, Walter J. Murawski. Both Archer and Walter preceded her in death.
Phyllis is also survived by her loving sister, Jan Dorr of Camarillo, California, her niece Tammy Yasutake, and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her brother, Sonny.
She was a proud grandmother to ten grandchildren:Kristi (Rob Cornwell), Katrina (Houston Bolin), Keri (Cameron Cope), Michael, Connor, Justin, Morgan (Justin Richardson), Matthew, Peter, and Lindsay.
She was an especially proud great-grandmother to seven great-grandchildren: Brynlee (13), Knox (10), Madison (8), Walker (8), Preston (7), Parker (4), and Pierce (2).
A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 Noon with a Funeral Service to follow at 12:00 Noon at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 516 S. Washington Street, in downtown Naperville. Cremation Private.
