Loving father of Melodie (David) Merrick, Sherrie (David) Lloyd, Doran (Thomas) Sweeney, Carie (Daniel) Frigo, the late John (Dena), Michael (Elizabeth), Timothy (Grace), and Tristan (Kevin) Angus.
Proud grandfather to 19: Lindsey (Brendan) Reilly and Liam Merrick; David (Alexandra), Derrick (Kelsie), Alysia (David) Mazek, Bradon (Magdalena) and Jarrid (Maricela) Lloyd; Kaitlin (Jason) Nisavic, Lauren (Marko) Knezevic and Shannon Sweeney; Themis Frigo; John and Michael Karnezis; Caroline Karnezis; Jacqueline and Timothy Karnezis; Conlan, Michaela and Delaney Angus.
Adored great-grandfather to 8: Aoife, Ronan, Jackson, Josephine, Rivers, Prescott, Peyton and Dylan.
Preceded in death by his parents Theodore Karnezis and Christine (nee Roiniotis), and his first wife Charlotte (nee Dolan).
Dear brother of George (Kristine), Eugenia (John) Parzakonis, and Sophia (the late Peter) Mastro.
Fond brother-in-law to Kathleen (Bruce) Kornhaber, Teresa (Roy) Alford, and the Dolan and Glim Families.
Devoted uncle and cousin to many.
Justice Karnezis had a stellar judicial career and was highly regarded for his knowledge of the law, extensive judicial experience, and calm demeanor. He was always willing to serve as a mentor to practitioners and other judges. He will be missed by many in the legal community and beyond.
Visitation Friday, February, 23, 2024, 3-8pm and Saturday, February 24, 2024, 9:30am to 10:00am at Christ the King Church, 9235 S. Hamilton Ave., Chicago, IL 60643.
Mass of Christian Burial Saturday at 10:00 am.
